This lesson is a great way to engage pupils in natural sciences and manufacturing techniques. Using 3D printed brackets and off the shelf materials, this lesson encourages problem solving and teamwork.

 

This lesson could be tied into the study of:

Physics (light, refraction and greenhouse gasses), Biology (plant cycles and photosynthesis), Design & Technology (resistant materials, additive and subtractive processes).

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Build a greenhouse for your classroom, sturdy enough to house plants and store tools.

Work together as a team to measure up and assemble the greenhouse.

Work out where to position the hinges so that the doors work correctly.
